(GIG), Tesla owners don’t have to drive far for expert service. Our technicians are Tesla-trained and certified, making GIG an authorized facility for Tesla maintenance and repair. From brakes to filters, tires to A/C systems, we follow Tesla’s recommendations while adapting to local driving conditions in Truckee and the Lake Tahoe region.
Tesla Trained
Members of our team have completed various tiers of Tesla training and the shop is an authorized service facility.
Tesla Brake Service
Brake Fluid Service:
Tesla recommends every four years, GIG recommends every two years with mountainous travel.
Caliper Maintenance:
Tesla recommends every 12,500 miles where winter roads are salted. GIG recommends the same.
Brake Replacement:
There is no interval for brake replacement as it will depend on maintenance performed, driving habits and driving conditions.
Hepa Air Filter Replacement
Tesla recommends replacement every 2 years. Due to local air quality (dust, pollen, smoke), GIG recommends every 2 ½years or 15,000 miles.
Tire
Rotation
Tesla recommends rotating tires every 6,250 miles or when there's a tread depth difference of 2⁄32" or more between any tires.
Cabin Air Filter
Tesla recommends every 2 years. GIG recommends cabin air filter every 1.5 years or 15,000 miles due to air quality (dust, pollen, smoke).
A/C Desiccant Bag
German Import Garage recommends replacement between 3 and 5 years, depending on the model.

Tesla Tip
When replacing tires, Tesla recommends Tesla-approved tires to maintain range, ride comfort, and noise reduction. Some models (like Model 3 or Y) come with acoustic foam-lined tires to reduce cabin noise.
